BRAND BANDITS GALORE
If you're somewhat into fashion you probably didn’t miss the recent mix between streetwear and haute couture. Take for instance the McDonald’s inspired collection of Moschino or Chanel’s supermarket catwalk.
This movement didn’t start top-down from the big multinationals, but with young designers (like most shifts do) who felt like taking down the sometimes avant-gardist fashion industry. By incorporating high-end fashion logos and symbols with everyday couture, these designers play with and expand upon what can be perceived as fashion.
A group of young designers named ‘The Vetements collective’ is currently driving a public discourse by doing just that. Check out their genuinely phoney collection consisting of, among other things, a Chanel basketball and a (Hugo) BOSS OR LOSS t-shirt.
